As I make the affirmations of faith in prayer and song, I realize anew that there can be no pride associated with them.

“…I will run to You…”

“…Though my world may fall, I’ll never let You go…”

“…I will serve You alone…”

“…You alone are God…”

“…I’m never gonna stop…”

“…Deeper and deeper, I’m falling in love with you…”

These statements, beautiful as they may be, are obvious in their multi-faceted redundancy.

Of course I’ll stay with you!

Where else would I go? To whom could I turn?

Now that I’ve experienced You in my Life, what could possibly replace Your Love? Grace? Acceptance? Joy? Security? Wholeness? Strength? Patience? Tenderness? Holiness? Kindness?

I am totally spoiled now.

Ruined to the world.

The only questions are these – Will I truly turn my back on the ways of the flesh? Will I truly shut out my selfish fears and desires?

And when I began to truly walk out that affirmation, then my heart was filled even more with the magnificence and joy of Your presence.

I had made more room.

And no matter how much I have of You, I can never get enough.

Statements of faith, Affirmations,

Are wonderful, and all true,

But it’s not because of me.

I’m just in love.

Thank you, Lord.
