Poetry
pastarchives.jpg This is a collection of poetry, most of which was written after the release of “Glimpses”. Some of the poems were written to tell a story about God’s love, some were an allegory about an event in my life (and the Lord’s influence in it), but most were written as letters to Him. These letters express my awe and my love of God.

In my opinion, the chief asset of any poem is honesty, whether negative or positive. Connection between the poet and the audience starts with an honest expression of thoughts and emotions, even at the risk of offense. I hope you find connection here.

  • Glimpses Short Stories  ( 9 items )
These are the stories that first appeared in the book “Glimpses of My Friend the King”. Most were written between August and November 2003 and are allegorical in Nature. They represent the first fruits after the surrender of my pen to the Lord. I hope you enjoy them.

  • Other Short Stories  ( 1 items )
There are short stories that either didn’t fit in with the “Glimpses” stories, or were written since that book’s publication. They are either allegorical or represent true experiences. I hope you enjoy them.

  • Blog *NEW*  ( 9 items )

These "blogs" originally started out as letters to myself. Sometimes it helps me to understand myself or the issues I'm dealing with by explaining them to someone else. I get my thoughts together best by writing them out. I never expected anyone else to read them, but I thought that by sharing them someone might find help or encouragement. They also serve as snapshots of the various places I've been on my journey over the last few years.

The blogs begin from where I first felt a confirmation from God to write, through the publishing of the "Glimpses" book and the aftermath, and the journey to where I am now. They not only cover the hopes and disappointments of the book, and my writing in general, but also my struggles with maintaining a "connectedness" with other people. I have crossed out the names where someone may be offended, for that is in no way my intent. I hope they can be of some value. -James Howard
