This story came to me as I was listening to the song “White Sandy Beach of Hawaii” by Willy Don on the CD “Facing Future” by Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole (“IZ”). The song sounds like it might have been written by a man for a woman, but on the CD IZ talks about when his father died so I thought it could also be from a child to a parent, or even from a parent to a child. In my mind I visualized a man walking on a beach with his little girl. When I imagined Jesus coming up the beach toward them the whole story crystallized. It was a difficult one to write.
