The idea for this story came to me in 2003 as I was reading a book called “Wild at Heart” by John Eldredge. In it he spoke of emotional wounds that we may receive in life that leave a deep and lasting impression on us. These wounds can affect how we see ourselves as well as how we interact with others. It seems to me that demonic forces are often present at crucial times to heighten the effect of these experiences. In this story I wanted to show the spiritual forces that are often at work in the world around us. I wanted also to show the critical importance of prayer and its effect in spiritual conflict. And, of course, I wanted to show the ability of the Lord Jesus to comfort and heal.}
